Jensen?
Jim

That's a Fiat Dino.

Or an OSI Ford 20M TS...1967?

m21sniper 01-19-2010 04:00 PM

Whatever it is, it's ugly. It has a Datsun B210ish look to it.

herr_oberst 01-19-2010 04:03 PM

Audi

audiman08 01-19-2010 04:15 PM

It's an Audi 100 Coupe S. I saw one on Ebay a few months ago, they are very rare in the U.S.

Pretty sure it's a Ford OSI.

Oops...the vent slots abaft the sidelight looks like the Audi above.

jkarolyi 01-19-2010 04:33 PM

Yup, Audi 100 LS Coupe. Same engine & trans as the Porsche 924. Were the coupes ever legally imported to the USA?

Ironic - esp. coming from you...

RWebb 01-19-2010 06:18 PM

according to the book I cribbed it from it is neither an Audi nor a Ford...

the body is Italian, yes, but the rest of it is...

DARISC 01-19-2010 06:36 PM

Not a Fiat either?

"Tipo" (Italialian for "Type")...but mebb in the book, it's a "Typo"? :)

herr_oberst 01-19-2010 06:44 PM

If it's not an Audi, it's a Pretty good clone!

Yep. Except that they used the transmission in the "normal" place instead of as a rear transaxle. This is why the 924/944/968 (they kept the same transmission body despite internal improvements) has a provision for attaching a driveshaft at the rear (just the hole for it, plugged).

Doesn't the Audi emblem on the grille in your picture kinda give it away?

I suspected the same but when I blew it up in Photoshop, couldn't tell (low res, just a few pixels). Besides that, Randy says it's not an Audi (but of course he also says global warming is atributable to hooman beans :)).

Randy - WTF is it?!

Shaun @ Tru6 01-19-2010 07:52 PM

is it an Audi that's been modified by Abarth or similar?

I've seen those wheels before, just can't remember where.

if you were trying to disguise a car, what would you do?

BTW - I have not seen the car in person. I got the pic out of a book on cars... a certain brand of cars...

slodave 01-19-2010 08:37 PM

Are you looking for the VW connection?
