District 9
Anyone catch this. Saw in on HD last night. One of the stranger movies I have seen in years. If you check the backstory about the production, you will see why. Lots of first timers with little experience in making movies the "traditional" way and it shows. Not really a horror movie and I broke out in laughter more then a few times. Seems most either hate it or love it. I personally like movies in which I have no idea how they are going to end. It kept my interest and I'm still thinking about it. Better then many others I have seen lately.

Nieil Bloemkamp the director is a former SFX artist and had been pushing the trapped in Jo'berg idea for several years, he kept refining his vision working on short segments and also making TV commercials in which he honed his vision. I dont think without Peter Jacksons involvement it would have gotten done, but massive respect to NB
Great dedication and belief which seems to have paid off.
