Remember why we have the BATF and a lot of these stupid fed. gun laws. The Nat. Firearms Act was passed in 1934 because the repeal of Prohibition left a lot of Treasury agents with not enough to do. Silencers were actually included here because the Great Depression was so bad that poaching livestock was a concern and silencers made such poaching easier. We got an update to the law in 1968 after the assassinations of the last few years. Can anyone claim those laws have cut down on crime in the least? Banning machine guns didn't put Al Capone out of business. The IRS did.

Now, where BATF is a needed agency is in the area of bomb investigations. No one knows more about this stuff and they have the experts and the database to really solve some incredible crimes. But the gun law stuff is total BS.

I don't get why anyone would be beating up on targa911S for this; given that he had it for sale on a public site, what he did subsequently was the only reasonable course of action.

Whether you think the BATF is a bunch of bozos or not is really not the point... when the bozos have the ability to make a case on you and throw you in jail, you do what you have to do. What's to second guess here?
