It's our bow sights. We typically have a set pin for yardage in ten yard increments. So we need to hold those pins vertical. If not, for a typical left hand shooter, your arrows will hit far right and move left as you shoot further and further. Compound guys have to keep consistent. Trad guys shooting instinct style can do the slanted shot.
