Google makes me say that. Couldn't find the exact spoon, but very similar design features. If it's a Westley Richards, it's pretty pricey.

I say it has too many low grade features to be anything more than a Belgium made gun for the US market.

The hammers have no grace, no elegance. High grade hammers have the appearance of movement and lightness.

The fences are equally without style and balance.

All the furniture is plain, without any shaping or character.

The damascus barrels are low grade.

The triggers are thick and have a heavey appearance.

Look at the picture of the high grade hammer gun that targa has posted.

The difference is night and day (and that is not due to the engraving).

This tread sparked me to check out a similar "spoon" that my grandfather gave me. It was his fathers fathers and was used to hunt waterfowl in the Newburyport area of Massachusetts. I popped the barrel off and took a few pics. The marks are very hard to read, one mark looks like a cross with a falcon or eagle perched on the end, and the letter "C" and maybe "P" it is very hard to decipher. The mark below looks like the same cross and eagle, but with the letter "V". Does anyone have any insight? It would be neat to have more info.

I tried the white out, but the picture still sucks. I found A. Dris??? Co , and the numbers 55 and 100(I think you can see the numbers in the pics.)

crown over ELG proof mark on the top of the barrel in pic on the RH side. Belgian proof mark for black powder. Do you see any marks like thee?

Indian Arms & Ammo Resources - Proof Marks.
I think I am going to need a magnifying glass to see them.

What is good to clean up the barrel to see better?

These are clearer, but they are small. I have not figured out how to make them bigger after I reduce their size.

Thanks for all the help.

ding ding ding.....

Drisket & Waroux 12 gauge muzzle loading black powder SxS Shotgun with ELG (leige) cartouche. The Drisket & Waroux company manufactured firearms in Belgium from 1870 to 1873. A middle grade gun IMHO. they made military guns too. they bring more money. Now do a google search the the makers name, find them for sale and you will get an idea what it is worth.

Pete, I seriously don't know. It's one of a kind, probably made for royals. I can say easily, LOTS! maybe Frenchy would know better, I'm sure he does.

Thanks targa911s. Is there a difference between A. Drisket & Co. and Drisket & Waroux?
