Vacation Time and the Oil spill!!

Anybody in the Sarasota area with any insight as to the direction of the spill or the odor? Any current problems? Our vacation is at the end of June and we are wondering if we should make a different plan. We have a house rented on Anna Maria....

Thanks!
mg

Wife and steptwins were on a cruise out of NOLA to Key West then on to Bahamas...as such they sailed down the wset Fla gulf coast. This was last Saturday. Aside from a prevalent oil smell leaving the port of NOLA they encountered no oil slicks or odor once heading south.

Yeah...and super inexpensive hot oil massages on the beach

Let me know where you might want to stay and I'll see if there are any deals.

Interestingly (or not) here in Memphis we are getting radio and TV adds saying "the Gulf Coast is open for business, clean white sands, fresh seafood" etc. From both Mississippi and Alabama.

As luck would have it we are going to Sanibel Island Fla, the week after July 4th, hopefully they'll miss completely according to the "scientists"

Yep Missisippi and Alabama beaches, fishing, etc are open for business as usual.
We get an occasional whiff of oil smell but summer time prevailing winds are pushing oil away from us.

I SAY AGAIN NO OIL HERE!!!!!!!!
