Insurance for hearing aids
THIS IS AN HISTORIC DAY
IN NORTH CAROLINA! Yesterday, the North Carolina Legislature passed House Bill 589 which mandates insurance coverage for hearing aids for anyone under the age of 22 years of age. THANK YOU to the many women, men, and children who have worked tirelessly and endlessly for years to bring this about! The bill is on its way to Gov. Perdue's desk for signature!! The bill unanimously passed the Senate today. The next stop will be Governor Perdue who will sign the bill into law. The effective date for this legislation will be January 1, 2011. Collin, Arthur and Tracy Tastet were present for this historic vote. Collin was recognized by Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton for his tireless lobbying for the passage of this bill. Great news. Love to see a child show that anyone can make a difference if you get involved. Just out of curiosity:
What does the average hearing aid cost for a child?

Wish they came out with the law it two years ago
Hearing aids for my daughter were about 4 grand for the pair but the results are worth every penny. |

My sons are about $1500 each.
