the only other time I have heard spook was in a racist kind of way.

Now I know it means more than that.

Had a similar experience about a month ago. Was driving in an upscale area following a black truck looking thing. At first I didn't pay much attention. Then I noticed it didn't have a license plate, was actually painted flat black, had fat semi off road tread tires, and actually looked similar to a brinks truck but smaller - very dark tinted windows too. After spending time looking at it trying to figure out what it was, I noticed two white Yukons with very dark tinted windows driving ahead of it. They turned right and the light changed to red just before the black truck entered the intersection. It didn't slow down a bit & just rolled into the intersection on the red light & turned right behind the two Yukons. Left me wondering who could be cruising that area needing that kind of security.

Funny aside...years ago, a van parked on the edge of my property. A guy inside, kept jumping from front to back. Scared the krap out of him when I walked up, armed, and said: "Can I help you?"

Turned out to be a private Dick...surveillance duty on a divorce thing...

LOL appearantly not too good at his job either... if he was being that conspicuous....

Its used in many different ways.

For instance the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom had a mascot that was called the "Phantom" which soon was changed in the field to "The spook."

hahhaha,. i laugh, but this is the first scam i fell for (if you dont count that damn hyper-fast money exchange where i lost $20). i lost $200 of my college rent money with these effers.
here is the scam. they drive around in van. strange, they all seem to be white. they find a mark. and ask if they need wonderful speakers. yes? well, lucky day. "we just went to the warehouse to pick up our inventory, and the people loaded in an extra set!!" they sell you the contraband speakers. mainstream speaker boxes..mine where JBL. i opened the cardboard to find CRAP speakers!! i never hooked them up...but a friend did. he said the sound quality was very very bad. hahaha. i considered it a cheap $200 dollar lesson. till i realized i didnt have enough for rent. the beauty of the scam is that no-one ever has a method to test the speakers in a mall parking lot.

since then, i have been solicited 3 more times by the same story. i simply give them the finger.

Right. But is there a want ad somewhere recruiting for this job? I mean, how can there be so many scumbags doing the exact same thing in every town in America? Where do they get the schitty speakers? There has to be some central supply of them, a warehouse or something filled with new vans and crap speakers. Enquiring mnds want to know.

I swear, cavemen must have been doing this ****...

White van speaker scam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I went grocery shopping on the way home from work just LAST week....white van pulls up:

dude: "hey man, can i ask you a crazy question?"

me: "sure"

dude: "how'd you like to get some great speakers for cheap...i got too many loaded this morning."

me: "no thanks...i'm an engineer for Klipsch."

dude had no comeback other than...

dude: "welp, im sure you have plenty of nice speakers. see ya!"
