iPhone 4 - Report Your Phone's Performance

My co-worker brought in his iPhone 4, and we did some tests using the speedtest.net app.

Download (3 tests): 7080kbps, 7118, 7277
Upload: 4202 4167 4182

My 3G, which I've decided after comparing with another 3G last week, is definitely not working right, gave these results:

Download: 190 160 171
Upload: 50 20 25

Yeah, something is clearly wrong w/ my phone, it has been very sluggish for a few months now.

Report your speeds, you iPhone 4 buyers.

speedtest is extremely subjective since you can pick a test site that is right next to you or across the planet. It really depends on where you are in relation to the site and since we are scattered all over the place regardless of phone type the network results will be different.

True. When we do side-by-side comparisons in the office (lots of iPhone users here) we make sure all the phones are at least using the same server. The tests I posted above were done in PDX, using a PDX server.

Are these results valid and are they good or bad? There is an app for this.

Cool post. I'm on the edge with regard to the I4; An I3gs16 costs all of $99 right now; How much slower is it really going to be? Do I really need the extra 16 gb that an I3gs32 would give me, and would it not be more sensible to simply pay another $50 or $100 for an I4?

I'm one of these people who typically sits back and waits for the technology to shake out. I don't HAVE to own the latest-

iPhone? The 'On' Button and 'home' button at the same time captures a screen shot to your camera roll.
