Can you identify this car?
This image is from the inside of the Clapton LP "Slowhand". He claims in his autobiography that it's a 365GTC Ferrari, but to me it looks like a mid-engine Lotus or perhaps Ferrari. Any guesses? The 3 exhausts are interesting.
I recently rediscovered vinyl and this record, and I remember wondering about this in the late 70's pre internet days!

That is Ferrari '73, 74 or 75 365 GT4 BB.
Pretty rare car, less than 400 made. |

Wow - that didn't take long, tho I'm not surprised.
Interesting that Clapton got his own car wrong, but he does admit to being high when he wrecked it.

Well, he was half right, in that it is a 365.
The 365GTC, though, was an earlier car, very different (front engine, etc). He probably had a few of those, too!

There were 3 series of the Boxer. The one Clapton wrecked was of the first series. It has a carb'd 4.4L flat-12. The easy identifying characteristics are the three tail lights and three exhaust pipes on each side. These are fairly highly prized now, having a more raw feel. They like revs, more than the later cars, and are a little louder.
The next two series were both 5L flat -12's, the first with carbs and the last with fuel injection. They were still quick, if not as fun to drive. JR |

Didn't EC roll Harrison's Dino as well? I seem to remember something about that in his book as well.
Amazing that guy is still with us... |

Well he stole his wife, so rolling his Dino - not so far-fetched!
