Nope, that is just crazy & stupid.

I do not understand burnouts. I guess the tire manufactures love them.

Now get off my lawn!

widgeon13 01-26-2011 03:29 PM

Why don't they set the entire pile of **** on fire?

Have you guys ever had a muscle car? Being able to roast the back tires is fun. I wouldn't want to do it often, and I've not done it in my 911 or miatas, but in a muscle car...

Me neither. I've done them before, doesn't do a thing for me. I just feel my wallet emptying as the rubber burns away.

I grew out of it the first time I blew up a tranny.

It's all about the smoke man.

A930Rocket 01-26-2011 06:06 PM

Not just a burnout, but a 3 way burnout. What will they think of next?

My first car had wire wheels, my Dad told me if I did a burn out, I'd destroy them the first time, so never did, except with my Mom's 69 Ford station wagon which had a 426 or 428 or some huge a$$ engine.

Nice old white frame Super Sport. What a waste of a fine machine.

The only good way to do a burnout is if you hit the throttle from a dead stop and even with posi you are laying down a 50 yard long pair of rubber tracks until you hit 3rd gear. Some of you guys never owned anything with 600 ft/lbs of torque on 225 tires and 3500 pounds curb weight ... That said, why you'd want to stay in one place just roasting your tires is beyond me ... you can see a lot of videos of that "fun" gone wrong, starting with bent quarter panels and ending in totally burnt out cars. ;)

I'll admit it, I like 928s as much as the next guy, but...

yeah chicks love burnouts. at least my daughter does. she took my rat rod and burned out up and down the strip at cruisin the coast in mississippi. Sat. night I tossed her the keys and told her to go have some fun since she was pissed at me for not letting her do it the first couple days. she pulled out in front of the hotel, stop to let traffic get ahead, someone ran out and poured some water in front the truck and she lit em up. and again and again down the road at every wet spot. she said had to do it because people kept screaming for her to burn out. yeah.. right! I don't think she realized with a rear end so light my friend and I can lift it off the ground, that she really didn't need water to spin the tires. actually, you have to be careful and go light on the throttle to not spin the tires leaving stoplights
