Iphone4 @ verizon
Just out of curiosity I went to Verizon website for an Iphone4 upgarde. I already have a line, so I figured an Iphone would be around $200 plus maybe a better data plan...Yeah sure :eek:
32 Gb Iphone4: $749 16 Gb Iphone4: $649 Are they crazy or trying to ass rape their customers?? Is it the same @ AT&T? |
If you're an existing customer, you pay full price. If you threaten to leave, they'll become reasonable and offer you some good deals.

I can't wait to see what AT&T offers me when I cancel the day after my contract expires. I will quit them like a bad habit and nothing will bring me back. Their network SUCKS and I wouldn't keep them if it were free. Counting the days.
|
And I suppose the phone itself is specific to their network, right? I seem to recall it is CDMA while the AT&T is GSM...makes "cheating" more difficult.
|
You can jailbreak your iPhone if you don't want to pay for one on another network. I'll probably eBay mine off, as it's in perfect condition and I have some old RAZR GSM phones for int'l. travel.
|
Let us see how high this one goes: already $310 and 10 min left:
|
$70 for shipping?

iPhones are cheaper at Apple store.

An iPhone 16GB on upgrade is $199 and 32GB is $299. If you are not ready to upgrade then it is what you have listed. |

I've also heard that Verizon will pay any fees you owe AT&T if you sign up with them.
|
Oh my. This might get me to switch early. We have a family share plan and about 11 mos. left on it. Probably would be a good $200 to leave now.
|
A Verizon phone will not work on any other network, since it is CDMA not GSM. An AT&T phone which is unlocked can be used on T-Mobile (at GSM speeds) and overseas on other companies networks.

I got the Verizon phone today with a temp number to test how it works in my calling environment where AT&T is a dismal failure. So far, 4 bars everywhere that AT&T goes to 1 and below.
Cost was $199 for the 16GB phone. I got 3 for our company: 2 16s and a 32. With tax, plan setup and one tether contract, $899 out the door. AT&T has a cancellation rate that declines over time, so I should be paying around $175 to cancel. Don't care. Their service is abysmal. I'll get about $300 for my 3GS phone. So net cost of leaving is not intolerable. |
I looked up Verizon's plan today and it's about $30 per month more than what we have with ATT. We both have 16GB 3GS's in perfect condition. I don't know what they're going for now, but selling them and my ATT Micro Cell on Craigslist would probably put a dent in a switchover. Still, I can't stand the thought of paying a dime more for monthly service and I know I'd get hit with the early term. fee. I think Verizon will sweeten their deal in a few mos. and will revisit the issue then.
