That, in my experience, never happens.
HR= Not Human, Not a Resource. Be very careful with them since they are probably the ones who have come up with this policy.

Good comments guys. It's not that I'm interested in coasting the last bit, it's that this company has a habit of doing things like this for appearance sake. The certification will do nothing to enhance my abilities, or those of anyone else. The cert is a fund raiser for the certifying organization. But our boss can then say "See all of my people are certified". As stated I've been doing this for some time now, and I'm fine if they require the cert for promotion. But i'm very content with what I do. I'm an "in the trench" kinda AD, I train alot of the new hires and mentor alot of the newbies looking to advance. I don't really want to be a full Director.
