One time, at band camp, I accidentally got a red pepper seed in my eye and it got wedged under the eye lid. Didn't get it out for like 30 seconds.
Bad idea, bad bad bad. Bad pepper. Hurt. bad. For our math-anal folks: Pepper + eye = way down on the good-bad scale, right next to bad. So basically what I'm trying to say was, it was bad. |

I like Tabasco a lot, but Sriracha is my go to mass market one, there is some screamin' hot stuff out there that is pretty good. I always found Frank's too bland.

Rooster sauce is hot. If you use enough of it. Tabasco is mildly flavored vinegar.

I have a modest collection of hot sauces and put something on just about everything these days. Love classic Tabasco for certain stuff like New Orleans type dishes, which typically have cayenne and/or black pepper as well. The green jalapeno version is tasty too.
Lately I have been using a habanero sauce that is pretty scorching - 3 or 4 drops makes a dish noticeably fiery.

try Encona, not very hot but the taste of the chilly is nice.
for real Chilly taste and a good burst, I'll advice to crush a few chillies with a bit of rock salt in a mortar and pestle then add a little bit of sunflower oil to keep it moist and creamy. ( use habanero, Bird chilly or Lombok chilly). lovely with anything!

I love it - spicy foods rock! I'm so sick of bland, boring, relatively flavorless glop hat has become the rule rather than the exception. Tabasco is one of my favorite sauces/add-ons. Also curry sauces, ground black pepper, etc. As Emeril would say, I like my food to have "bam".
