florida dmv question

can anyone tell me if bringing a 1983 911 into florida is going to be a problem? i have no cat or O2 sensor. i dont think it would pass a smog test. in NY, my car has never been required to be tested. i did a quick search and it looks like florida does not do smog tests? am i wrong?

no smog tests that I recall....I had 5 years in central Florida...never had a test

correct... no tests in most, if not all of florida. I think if you like in Miami or FTL there are tests, but I am not sure.

None here in the Orlando area for me since 1997!!!

Love living in florida...so much better than Mass!

no smog tests in south florida either.
However there is an impact fee (tax) for registering
out of state vehicles in Florida.

2 things.....if just buying the car you'll need a signed bill of sale (can print from florida dmv).....

and if it has a non-florida title there is an extra surcharge to bring the car in the state......like 100-200 per car just to get a florida title (don't remember the exact amount).....even if it's already in your name too.....as rrico said...
