Now, let's compare the 911 of old with the 911 of today...clean lines & looks wise.

Alas, Thomas Wolfe was right...ya can't go home again. Mandated safety features alone dictate that Ford cannot remake the '66 Fastback and Porsche can't make the early 911S...

Perhaps you could provide a thread of a Porsche enthusiast extolling the virtues of the 997 on a Mustang forum.

Maybe there is some weirdo over there who moved up from a Mustang to a 997 and can't shut-up about it.

for the 6000th time, this is the off topic section of a porsche forum. ....not the on-topic section of a porsche forum.

let's take our threads about custom designed children's clothing to a clothing forum, not a porsche forum. ...or picture threads of stuff you eat for dinner. those should clearly be on a culinary forum.

the mustang is a quasi- neat car, and i don't mind talking about it. they're obviously no slouch, look ok, sound great, etc. someone mentioned that paul is so insecure about his mustang that he has to post about it. are we so insecure that we have to bash it?

Poor? Oh hell no...just the opposite. And enjoying a Mustang...much to your chagrin.

Maybe I should advertise Mustang T shirts here?

I agree, but American's are much bigger (fatter) than in 1964. The sport/sporty cars (including the Mustang, 911, Boxster and Miata MX-5) will continue to grow as we as a nation become more obese.

I like the color and sedate look of your car but would change out the rims. Nothing too dramatic...but what you have mounted now don't work. I'm thinking polished lip with some mix polish/paint center...

Stock 18X8.5" "Bullitt" Wheels. I've been thinking of going to these classic look torque thrust in 9.5" with close to stock offset. Actually these stock wheels are a polished lip, but for some reason doesn't show well in the photo.

Wheelsforless - Product Catalog - Search Result Page

But then, if I move on up to a 5.0, I may not want to put the $ into the Bullitt...

A 2002 996 only ran a 1:54.22 Damn, and that's an upgraded version of my 2000 996. I suddenly feel very SLOOOWWWWW.

Let's see, that Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition did it in 1:39.50...15 seconds a lap faster than my jalopy.
