I buy a ticket maybe once a month when the mood strikes me.
Never spend more than $1 regardless how large the jackpot. Spending $5 increases your odds not one bit. Take 1 grain of sand or 5 off the beach, makes no difference. Besides, you can only win on one ticket, well maybe not but the odds of getting two or more identical quick picks that are the winner is well......

I play alot of poker and will drop a couple of bucks on the bigger lottos. But statistically lottos are just dead money.....that said knowing the odds, there are a number of people who have won larger lottos more than once........amazing

I never buy lottery tickets. I figure my odds of winning are only slightly lower and I save all that money to buy beer.
![]() I have been to only a few casinos. There is a big casino - horse track just a few miles from my house. I have been twice in 15 years. I go in with a budget of money to gamble with. About the same amount we would spend on a night at the movies with popcorn & drinks.

Hey now... I thought this thread was about white trash not gambling!!!
For those of you who think lotto money goes to the schools... you might want to check into what percentage actually ends up going to the schools. RE: Gambling, my good friend has spoiled me for better or worse... he is a computer programmer who has made a science/study of gaming, he does very well at the tables. Long story short there are only two games in the casino that offer decent odds (and the house still has the advantage) all other games and machines are epic fail... throwing your money away. For that matter you have to check the game rules at each casino because some have better odds than others (best odds I have found are on Fremont street LV) I do enjoy sitting at a black jack table for entertainment, chatting with the dealer, waitress, other players, the feel of the cards, the sights and sounds of the casino, but haven't done that in years.

Seriously, I go to Vegas to commune with a machine. I do not talk to anyone when I am in the zone... just me and the machine. I budget the money I may or may not lose in Vegas. My daughter and I went to a casino in April. I took $500 to gamble (and potentially lose) and came back with $1100. Not bad for a few hours of fun. I do this maybe one or twice a year and I never lose more then I can afford to gamble.
