Of course Miatas are reliable and without a lot of uber expensive design flaws (like, for example my 911) so that makes them chick cars. But if you can stand the humiliation of having a great time driving your pussy ass around in a fun, dependable car, hand in your man card and drive on. I would.
Go spew your knuckle-dragging troll comments elsewhere.

Too bad people make fun of the" hairdresser" cars such as the Miata and the Boxsters.
Who cares what the perception is of these smaller cars are.

The Miata gives us reliability, good looks of the 60's Elan and performance that can be increased in an economical manner with bolt ons.

The original Miata pushed aside the British cars with the latter having Lucas electrics, finicky twin carbs and anaemic heaters. The British cars worked well in the UK but in colder climates mine seemed to shiver in the dark(sorry Lucas).

Looking forward to seeing the 2016 Miata on the road...

My wife used to drive a white 97 VW Cabrio (convertible) until the head gasket blew and I bought her an 03 BMW 325CI (convertible). That Cabrio has been sitting behind the house for about a year now, and I made a deal with my 15.5 year old son, we will fix the motor on the Cabrio and he has to drive the "chick car" for a full year with no accidents or citations, and then we will buy him a nice pickup truck, or Jeep Cherokee. You truly don't see many guys driving a white Cabrio, it's much more of a chick car than a Miata or a Boxster.

Funny when I started with the 944 I got some NARP and hairdresser comments... now I have truly embraced my feminine side and enjoy the Miata. Yes, it is English handling with Japanese reliability, however the Miata do have their quirks... for one thing the engine came off the shelf and wasn't built for the car so access to some components is tricky.
