Trekkor - thats really a cool idea. i have some left over granite and may try that.

From a recent BBQ I did - Pork tenderloins with my special dry rub (brown sugar and various seasonings), chicken and skewers of veggies and pineapple. There was nothing left after the seven of us devoured it.

Nice spread there.
We like grilling vegetables, too.

Art - those aren't racks from a fridge are they?

Refrigerator racks are (or used to be) made with cadmium - never use them for grilling!

Yep, the pork tenderloins with that dry rub are the #1 requested dinner around my house and among our friends. Recipe below and you can all experiment from there. It adds sweet, salty and spicy to the meat.

1-2 cups brown sugar
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp kosher/sea salt
1 tbsp fresh ground pepper
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp allspice
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp Tuscan herbs
1 tbsp McCormick Hot Shot Black & Red pepper blend

Mix in a bowl and coat the tenderloins about 1 hr before grilling. Reserve some for sprinkling over the meat after cooking.

Enjoy

Trekker, are there any chemicals in the stone that have to be heated out? Was the stone sealed? This should give the guys looking to make extra money an idea. Pick up leftover pieces of stone countertop for nothing, cut them into pizza stone and make some money selling them.

Good point. I may lightly sand a piece clean and treat it with something like peanut oil before use.

Easy way to tell if a piece of stone has been sealed is to wipe it with a wet cloth.
It will turn dark if it is unsealed.

OK, so if we have a piece of stone left over as part of counter tops installed in our kitchen, it will be sealed no doubt. What can we do to it to prepare it so we can use it for a pizza/cooking stone? I'm asking because I have a huge piece of granite left over from having granite countertops installed in my house. Or do we simply use the bottom side for cooking after heating the sealed side up to hopefully eliminate the sealing substance?

Nope, those racks came with the old Charmglow grill. I Parkerized the top grid after I Parkerized the pistol a few weeks ago. The racks are steel and I had them sandblasted when I had the grill done...
