Another unique Indy car engine. This time the Ilmor/Mercedes/Penske 209 cu in pushrod V8. 1000+ HP. Developed in almost total secrecy. OHC engines were allowed 45 inches of boost, but pushrod engines were allowed 55 inches and this one drove a huge gap in that loophole Won Indy in 1994 with Al Jr. at the wheel. Engine was SO dominant that it was essentially outlawed for the next season.
