I'm thinking of building a Lotus 7, the turbo isn't needed but a 300# V8 sounds great! I've been thinking of a Lexus 1UZ-FE the last version had variable valve timing and 300 or so hp at 320 pounds |

The two blue and red on the left rear are Ford SOHC engines. The right rear one appears to be SBF with an overhead cam conversion. The front left some road race / inspired Ford engine.
The SOHC engine were a real innovation in their day as the cylinder heads had machined intake and exhaust ports as well as combustion chambers. The only production engine ever to have that level of finish machine work. It also was designed from the beginning as a high RPM with extended use. |
Upper left Hemi 302 (experimental); lower left Indy turbo; center 7L experimental Le Mans; upper left , as mentioned, experimental SOHC; and the last one is a Boss 429.

Koenigsegg's 2 ltr , no camshaft, 3 cylinder, 600 BHP engine
Tiny Friendly Giant or TFG for short https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/a31451281/koenigsegg-gemera-engine-specs-analysis/ |
Thx for posting that - EVs "too heavy, and they don't make a cool sound"
154 lbs. is an amazing wt. - is that for the non-turbo version? |

They look like great cars but what are they like to own long term? Are they reliable and dependable or will they spend most of their time in a workshop? The current Mclaren cars have a rep of being the new Lotus and that's not a compliment. |
I'm impressed with what Koenigsegg do, not a huge company compared to Bugatti, McLaren and Ferrari but they do some very cool stuff
All the aero work on the Singer was done by a young ex-Koenigsegg aerodynamist I really enjoyed watching him drag (see what I did there ;) a classic 911 shape from a car with negative lift to a car with down force while keeping the smooth Porsche lines |
