The might of the American work force from the '40's.
I'm not sure if we could do the same today? |

There must be a wiki - and likely books - on Gioacchino Colombo. You've heard of the Colombo V-12s?

Paul. where do they put the intercoolers on those 935s. for instance , the Blue Coral car: Are they tucked in front of the wheel wells? Cannot imagine these were run without substantial cooling of the load air.

I believe from looking at my other photos of the car that the intercooler is in front of the engine and fed from the intakes in front of the rear fenders. Air comes out of the intercooler and ducted through those long flex tubing on each side of the engine to the turbos. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Thanks for the post!
This area is only a few miles from my house, and quite some years ago I worked at an "energetic materials" test area adjacent to the shut-down development/test area pictured below. Fyi, there is also a commemorative plaque at the corner of Morris Ave & Ford Rd in Denville near the site of the production facility. I also remember that many years ago one of my school classmates brought a maneuvering reaction engines from the Apollo LEM (his dad worked on them at RMI/Thiokol, I believe) and it looked like a small pumping system (like a fuel injection pump or large carburetor) with a nozzle attached. another related link: https://gardenstatelegacy.com/files/Power_for_Progress_Dupont_GSL123.pdf Quote:
