Moto Guzzi motorcycles

I've spent about a week on my 2007 Griso 1100.

My take on MG: Its a really, really cool machine, I'm just not convinced that the machines purpose is to be a motorcycle. I swear, somewhere down in the things soul, its still a lawn tractor of some sort. Maybe a bit of WWI biplane in there too.

Really fun to drive. Very unique. It you get on it, its surprisingly capable, but its a cruiser and it does it well. 1100 side mounted twin thumps nicely.

Jury is still out on quality.

A friend was having a mid-fife crisis and decided to get a motorbike. I even found him a couple of Guzzis both at $8,500. But no, he bought a brand new Triumph sportster sorta thing. Now he doesn't ride the Triumph anymore and would take a huge hit selling it. Whereas... If he had bought the Guzzi he could have sold it for the same money or a little more.

If you have any interest, Moto International here in Seattle has a huge stock of bikes that they bought from a bankrupt dealer. They are selling them for 20-40% off new. You could get a new bike (with a warranty), and take a very small depreciation hit.

Of course the nearest dealer to have repairs done is 300 miles away, and it might take Giuseppe 2-3 months to get the parts shipped, but its all part of the Guzzi 'experience'....

Unfortunately many Italian bikes are only as good as your local dealer. It's funny because every once in awhile I'll get a hankerin' for an Aprilia. Then I go to Apriliaforum and read a few threads. That usually cures me for awhile

I have a Moto Morini K2. Restoring it this winter. I still wish I had a Guzzi too. They are like Porshes; you have to love maintaining them.

A guy gave me two Geese a few years ago. So rough, I never unloaded from the trailer. Flipped them in a few days for $1,200. You can never have too many lights and horns! Still want a nice, old one someday.

I'd like to ride this

I guess it's the same bike, but somehow my pic just looks better than yours.
