Really? Wow I thought it was worthless (my wife's quote was "get that old stereo out of here already!") Any idea where a new selector switch and knob could be found? I could probably find a round tuning knob and paint to match but the bad selector switch was what sidelined the thing after a friend gave it to me back in high school.

Don't worry about it. Whoever gets that can source the parts whether you sell it or gift it. It's worth what it's worth because of what's inside.

And Sid gets the shirt.

Got some short sleeve shirts up for grabs. Counter Clockwise from top left:

CLAIMED - Grassroots Motorsports - Size L - only worn once or twice
Still available - Pelican Parts - Size L - It's been worn quite a few times, but still in good shape
CLAIMED - Porsche Heritage Soft Window Targa - Size XL - Has some miles on it. Stitching on one sleeve came undone...always meant to just pull the thread out of the other side so it would match.
CLAIMED - Shawn shirt - Size M but fits more like a small. Washed once, never worn (Shawn sent a replacement).
CLAIMED - Porsche GT1 - don't see a tag, but probably an XL - worn a lot, but still in good shape.
CLAIMED - Tag Heuer Polo - Size L - Has been worn, but still in nice shape.

Claim via PM. Will update post when/if they're taken. Take one, take all. The more you take the fewer trips to the PO for me!

If no one else speaks up for the spa shirt in a few days I'll take it. I feel bad for already nabbing one shirt this evening.

Great thread, but a bit late for all the stuff I have been getting rid of from my parents flat.

So: anyone interested in harmonicas???

My father spent 5 years as German prisoner of war in Mississippi, and developed a deep passion for the blues harmonica while there. After the war he regularly played on West German radio playing the blues harmonica solo.

I found this collection tucked away in the bottom of his large desk. He always maintained these things meticulously—but I can appreciate that a second-hand harmonica may not be high on anyones list.

But here they are:

Let me know if you are interested.

One more thing:

A Hermes Ambassador typewriter, built in 1965.

This thing weighs as much as a small Hyundi. It is built in Switzerland, and built to last several lifetimes. In its day it was the Bugatti of the typewriter world. Impeccable quality.

Shipping charges will be considerable I imagine.

Let me know.

If shipping charges are not insane, I'd like that typewriter. Can you check, or PM me the weight and from location and I'll check?

No pics yet, but for $0.00 I have a dealer added A/C for an early 911. It replaces the knee pads and includes the "expansion valve" thingy but no compressor.

I do have some other items that I would like to add to the thread that I think are pretty cool, but I am gonna have to wait until I find out who I get in the Pelican gift exchange this year before I commit to giving them away quite yet...

Some of those may have some value! They can be cleaned and sanitized and usually there are directions for doing that.
That being said, my little guy loves them and will more than likely beat the crap out of them while playing with them. If you would like to ship the ones of lesser value to me at my expense, that would be great.

jyl: I'm guessing it weighs 30 to 40 pounds (don't have a scale) and I'm, in Vancouver.

That said, I'm in Seattle on 11 November and could ship from there. Let me know.

*****

Thanks also to everyone who responded to the harmonicas. They have found a fine new home thanks to you guys.

BTW this is great thread idea. Recycling is good. I'll be posting lots of other stuff in future. We have far too many things, and I've come to realize in recent years that the only things I really need are a sarong and a rice bowl.
