Ha. Before it goes to PARF: Dow up 50%, depression averted, Bin Laden dead, GM alive... makes the righties hysterical. He has my vote -- again.

Every president is also given? a Vulcain "Cricket" watch. Vulcain invented the alarm complication for wristwatches. Truman started wearing one. I know Biden currently wears one.

Techweenie,

The dow might be up 50% but the UDS is down 25% so it's a false amount. What would the dow be in say 2006 Dollars? So yes, it's up but the USD buys less on the world market.

GM was saved. Maybe it should have been scuttled and saved by private industry with the removal of the unions that have parasitically destroyed it from within.

As far as Bin Ladin, well I'm sure that the people that found him and off'em didn't vote nor would be hired by Obama.

The man is far from who he claimed to be. The bank bail out, the czars, the personal staff, the personal trips. He's like Robin hood of old buy with a twist.

He's stealing form the poor and middle class to give to the rich. I call him Hood-Robin!

I would vote for BILL CLINTON if he could run again over Obama.

And the most amazing part is, you are not completely wracked with shame.

Couldn't agree more.

I don't know about those Aussies. They loved Oprah too.

But then their dollar is worth about twice what it was compared to ours since Obama took office. I think they're up to something and just pretend to like him so they can come here for the bargains. We sure can't afford to go there anymore.

With your strong economy, and proximity to emerging world powers China and India. Australia is poised to be a player in a new world order. Hence the visit

As to the current strident conversation. Both libs. and Conservatives feel a bit desperate and out of control regardless of who is in office because it is becoming increasingly clear that large corporations and special interests with their uber lobbyists really are holding the reins of power and decision making. The more we bicker among ourselves the easier it is to have their way.

I think you forgot the biggest donors- unions and the trial lawyers. There's a reason Australia still has diving boards and you can't find one in the US.

It's all a plot to make it cheaper to upgrade the p cars. I've spent more on my car in the past 15 months than ever before.
Just remember guys it could be worse. Imagine being run by the Greeks or Italians - both democratically elected parliaments but complete cot cases.

Saw it on the nightly news moments ago and was thinking great - just what we need......an American presence in Australia. This outta make them REAL happy!

So the fact that we are sending a military presence down under is a good thing from an OZ POV? Interesting.....

Two Aussies, Davo and Tommo, were adrift in a lifeboat. While rummaging through the boat's provisions, Davo stumbled across an old lamp. He rubbed the lamp vigorously and a genie came forth.

This genie, however, stated that he could only deliver one wish, not the standard three.

Without giving much thought to the matter, Davo blurted out, "Turn the entire ocean into beer. Make that Victoria Bitter!"

The genie clapped his hands with a deafening crash, and immediately the sea turned into the hard-earned thirst quencher. The genie vanished.

Only the gentle lapping of beer on the hull broke the stillness as the two men considered their circumstances.

Tommo looked disgustedly at Davo whose wish had been granted.

After a long tension-filled moment Tommo said, "Nice going Davo! Now we're going to have to piss in the boat."
