High End Kitchen Appliances.

Well, every time I start reading reports of complaints on quality appliances it seems that they ALL have problems.

What have you head good or poor luck?

Bad experience with GE Profile and Adora appliances here. Excellent service from the Bosch appliances we have replaced them with, though...

We bought a Jade 6 burner with center grill, double oven, all stainless range that is 4 feet wide and except for having trouble finding a range hood wide enough we have had no issues at all. At the same time we bought a 4 foot wide Jade side by side built in frig/freezer and it has had no issues. I really like the crushed ice in the door feature! The inside is all metal so no plastic to fracture and the door gaskets are shielded from the outside so they do not get any dirt or dust.

Here's a pict of the stove and we can cook the WHOLE Thanksgiving dinner at the same time with it!

I'm in the high end sector, so I will throw my vote for Kitchen Aide. However, I've had very good luck with most things from Sears.

Jenn-Aire: ceramic top electric range, combination oven/microwave, French door refrigerator.
Bosch: dishwasher.

During 3rd year the inner ring of the 3 ring burner on the range went out. I ordered the part off the internet and installed it. Total cost $75. I didn't even bother to call Jenn-Air for service as they would cover parts only after 1 year so I have no idea how good or bad their service is. No problems with any of the other Jenn-Aire appliances.

The Bosch dishwasher is incredibly quiet and does a great job of cleaning the dishes. No problems after 4 years.

cool blue LED on my Dacor range went out after just 2 years - it's just an indicator that the burner is on, but still PO'd

Dacor said "not user serviceable" - so, pay somebody a lot of $$ to come out and dis-assemble the whole thing to fix it - nope

We have a Viking range that is 8 years old and has been great. Had a point where the igniton control module for the burners messed up but never quit working. The parts folks were helpful and easy to deal with. Was shocked that the part was less than 40 bucks. We have one with a gas oven and would not go dual fuel as we are not bakers. Dont get me wrong it makes great cookies, cakes, etc., but the infra-red burner in the top of the oven is great. I have done several prime rib roasts, the last being a whole for my dads 80th a few months ago. That piece of meat alone was worth the money we spent on that thing. We have some high end GE refrig, not nearly as nice as a SubZ but i would buy another.

We have a Bosch dishwasher thar is great. Super quiet and cleans very well. Never had a problem with it. It's in our old house. In our second house we have a Viking pro range. 6 burners and a griddle. I like to stir fry in a big wok and the heat from this thing is just great! The range was in the house when we bought it. The wife bought me a "spider" made for a wok to replace the regular spider and I love it. We have an industrial hood over it that sucks out just about anything. We can deep fry without stinking up the house. The wife loves the dual oven. We never use the gridle. Functionally it's great but I'm not super impressed with the design and fit. I'm a mechanical engineer. For the money I demand German engineering. That it is not.

We also have a Viking dishwasher. It sucks. The Bosch which cost a fraction of this Viking is much much better.

I'm waiting for the Viking dishwasher to give up the ghost.

Known a number unhappy with Viking & Subzero

We're midrange folks. Happy with, GE oven/microwave & induction cooktop, Bosch fullsize dishwasher, Fisher & Paykel 1/2 dishwasher (more quiet than the Bosch), Miele wok burner, Mom has kitchenaide - she had to call service to replace the interior light bulb (could not DIY), and then the front door spring broke & had to be replaced, all in first 5 years of install.

My Mid range stuff did well in our last home. I had a 5 burner range that 1 of the burners was designed to boil water quickly. I could braze 10ga steel with it!

I had zero problems with it but I do want a double oven in the next home and a larger range.

Try induction Jim. Faster than gas. Truly goes to "11".

High end is Viking, Wolf, Sub Zero, and such. GE Monogram is, but I feel they are just slight notch below Wolf, DCS and such co. Sub Zero had their issues, but my dealer tells me that has been fix so mo more issues. I like Kitchen Aide. Both their pricing and products had been rock solid. They are not as much as wolf or Viking. The Stainless panels are a little thinner in some places according to my sales guys. I would buy DCS. Priced well, and they make a great product. I have their BBQ and cook top that sits outside without a cover, rain or shine. For higher dollar, Thermador with a Bosch dishwasher and a Subzero ref. That what I installed in my parent's home 10 years ago except for the Subzero ref. Everything held up just fine.

Excellent with Wolf, Sub Zero with one exception- do not buy the Sub Zero wine cooler- bad design adopted from another company lots of problems.

Also excellent with Bosch and Miele dishwashers.
