The 'Hunting' Motobecane
At some point in 1973, a Frenchmen stood at a welding jig, and stitched together the frame of what was to become a Motobecane Jubilee Sport. Perhaps he dreamed that one day, a great Frenchman would ride his creation up L'Alp D'huez on his way to victory in the Tour De France.
No such luck Serge. Serge's creation ended up being our Hunting/Fishing beater. My dad lowered the gearing and put cyclocross tires on it. I'm sure the locals are amused to see my dad and I riding along in pack boots with a rifle on our back, but hey, it beats walking a mile+ each way to the trailhead. |

Now in 993 land ...

People always smile or laugh at me when I am in the woods hunting off my mountain bike. It is not clear to me why folks don't use bikes more on flat ground. Opening day dove season, I had them all beat to the good spots and could move quickly between them ...
