Nice thread revival, Dmitry! I took a shortcut this year and left the big tree in the attic. This little 4' one will suffice!

So I'm scrolling through the first page of this thread not realizing that it's been revived from 2011 and I come to this photo and literally cry out loud to my wife, "holy $hit! someone else has the EXACT same living room as ours!" and then realize it's actually a photo I posted back on 2011. . . still cracking up at how much of a dumb a$$ I am. : ) : )

This is from 60 years ago. A sad little tree weighted down with ribbons of lead. They were shinny at least. The men with HAZMAT suits would be at your door these days.

Lead tinsel, what fun. I remember getting my first train set as a kid, and it was set up around the base of the tree. I plugged it in, and managed to get a couple strands of lead tinsel between the plug and the outlet. Big noise, big flash, big singe mark on outlet and wall. Dave discovers the miracle of electricity, and parents were less than amused.

Less is more

Red ornaments + white lights. I put this up in fifteen minutes. Taking it down should be faster. Painters tarp is the "snow"
