In 2002, I lost my first wife and my brother to cancer, 3 weeks apart.

Wife had a very rare form of carcinoma that formed a large tumor behind her sinus cavity. Radiation shrunk it. and basically killed it. but it came back a few months later and spread all over. Tried chemo and more radiation but no luck. From time of finding it until when she died was about a year and a half.

My brother had a melonoma that started in his leg and spread. Was quick only about 6 months. He was a commercial roofer for almost 30 yrs. They figured it had to do with all the crap he worked with over the years.

not rare enough. i was 10 years old..but i think this is EXACTLY what got my dad. to this day i cant handle my sinuses being stuffed up. dad told me stories of tiny air bags being pushed into his nose and inflated to stop the bleeding. the stories haunt me, and when i get congested..i'm done. no sleep, minor panic attacks. i've been addicted to sinus sprays 3 times because of it. vin..sorry for your wife. i know that fight well.

My father is a physician, and as a result associates with several other medical disciplines, including oncology. The common thread in medicine is that if you don't die of stroke, heart disease, and a myrad of other ills, then cancer in one of several forms will definitely be waiting for you. Most of our pets die of cancer because they have good medical care and outlive their natural life expectancies, with malignent cells waiting in the wings.

From what I have studied, cancer producing toxins are becoming more prevalent in imported food (ever eat at a Red Lobster? The majority of their food is farmed in China and loaded with antibiotics (a bad thing) growth hormones (another bad thing) and tainted food. Cancer producing toxins are present in our plastic cooking containers (Tupperware, Gladware, etc), in our drinking water, soil, air, and even in our clothing - ever buy wrinkle free shirts or pants - they stay that way because they are impregnated with formaldahyde. Dryer sheets and fabric softners - are of course made of chemicals, and if you do any reading about their health effects you will stop using them immediately. Our exposure is constant and increasing as controls are loosened - the premise of this thread, more people dieing sooner. I feel that as consumers, we need to say 'no' politicians who are bought and paid for by corporations which tirelessly work to reduce controls which safeguard our health and the health of our children to the benefit of corporate execs and their shareholders. Yes cancer will get us eventually, but better later than sooner so someone can make a dime.

Cancer is basically the unrestricted growth of cells.
I'm not sure how it all works, but cells are programmed to grow a certain way and divide a certain amount of times(most). Cancer cells ignore this, and make their own rules and create new blood vessels to feed themselves.

The traditional treatments(chemo and radiation) use the theory that cancer cells are weaker and bombarding everything will destroy them first. The drawback is that the "good cells" and rest of body also endure this barage.
Angiostatins work on the principle of shutting off cancer's food supply(blood) by preventing new blood vessels from forming. Without an expanding food supply, the cancer can't compete with existing slow-growth cells. Like a camel and a racehorse in the desert.

There are other unproven and AMA unaccepted methods of treatment by herbs to strengthen the natural systems and suppress unrestricted growth. I saw a film on the Hoxey Method(from his father treating horses) where it claimed exceptional results on topical cases. Those chemicals he used are actually being used in some of the newer pharma treatments.

Again, alternative treatments are unproven and usually not even given clinical trials, but given the historic survival rate of traditional and very expensive treatment methods they may have some medical merit.

To the original post, yes and very much so. Last two years have been terrible news of friends and family of all ages. Nothing like I've ever heard before.

Think positive! I don't want to bury into this topic right now and prefer to keep a liittle privacy, however I'm unable to resist a miracle story. Just found out this new year of my sister after completing a clinical trial chemo and now has a confirmed clean prognosis.

In short- Physical issues started in Nov 2010 and wasn't fully or properly diagnosed until April 2011 and by then a stage 4 rapidly eating bone cancer plus other complications... was told she might not make it the year end. Skipping all the details, many facilities, cancer specialist and experts but the options and risk by experts was 'will give you this or that and will guarantee another 3 months of life' but after that basically guarantee you won't be here....
Of this clinical trial and of the 26 woman selected nationwide and she is one of three this far advanced, the wonderful news was not expected and was a case study of what if?. Sadly 50% had not made it. For those who are or know of someone dealing with this dreaded crisis, I urge to dig online, ask questions and read up on everything you can regarding clinical trial drugs related to. This might sound harsh to many, but this deadly game is big business. I highly suggest to have one consult with many specialist from different facilities and even if they have to suffer repeated test and scans. Dig into the background and schooling of the specialist. Grill the advocate too and find out everything related to, keep your own log book and notes... don't rely soley on them. Also, oncologist are a special group that may study and specialize only in one area... find those and work with them. Insurance companies may not like this and depending on the oncologist organization, urge them to share your information and best designed treatment. Many chemo's may do what its designed for but may also do worse, so one might not make it because of a damaged heart, etc. so weigh it out. She followed the exact and crucial diet prescribed and kept snotty nosed kids, others with colds far away. Believe.

Heres a few things to consider...

* The use of microwave ovens in cooking

* Fast food, packaged convenience food, additives & preservatives, artificial sweeteners. Its horrifying to see how much stuff is added to packaged food these days.

* The use of plastics to store, cover, package and cook food.

Id love to see statistics showing cancer rates back in say the 30's and 40's compared to now.....

This year my new years resolution was to cut as much as of the crap from my diet as possible and eat as much natural unprocessed food in my diet as possible.

And yes I feel better already. Some interesting reading here - The Weston A. Price Foundation - Weston A Price Foundation

Also the Ultramind Solution - The UltraMind Solution by Mark Hyman, M.D.
