Sorry for your loss.
Time will heal but you'll always remember and have a place in your heart. |
Sorry to hear about Charlie. My family has lost two pets in the past year (one 18+, the other 15+) that have left tremendous holes in our lives. Please know that Charlie is in a good place and had a great life because of you.

Sorry brother. I know how you feel. My ol' girl passed 18 months ago. Isn't it something special how they become so bonded to us?
|
I can only add another sorry for your loss. The unconditional love of a great dog is hard to understand to anyone that has never know that love.
|
Godspeed.

As you can tell there are a lot of animal, especially dogs lovers on this forum. Charlie sounds like he was a very awesome companion and friend. You have your fond memories that will stay with you forever and that is what counts.
RIP Charlie and my condolences to you and your family. |
Sorry for your loss,, nothing sucks more than losing your dog ...

. A good friend passed in April '10...she asked me to take her two 6 yr. old min. Poodle brothers (Petey & Ollie). We have become extremely bonded...I am finding more/more grey hairs on them lately and when I do, hard to keep back the tears because I know the days of pain are coming. . I lost my two Tibetan Terriers to cancer 7 days apart, years ago - I know your pain. It's so hard to tolerate until the intensity attenuates somewhat. So sorry. :( |

This is what we all know is the inevitable for our beloved companions. Our thoughts are with you and yours. You and your family (and of course the mail carrier) gave Charlie 11 wonderful years and were with him when his time was up. That's all you can do. He will always be with you in spirit...that's an important aspect to appreciate in this time of grieving. I'm glad you mentioned he was a rescue. That brings special meaning to the situation. I've always believed the finest tribute you could ever make for your departed companion is to find and rescue another deserving dog. I see too many of these beautiful animals who have been dumped like some piece of trash....who are just waiting for someone to come along so they can give them and their family (and their mail carrier) a life of love and companionship. Everyone grieves in their own way and at their own pace. I only ask you consider giving life to another special dog when you know the time is right. Which for me - would be immediately. Charlie would approve.....and I know it would lessen some of the pain you and your family are feeling..... All the best, Baz, Winkipop, and Billabong (plus the cats Tucker, banjo, Kiwi) and the bird Matilda |
