Ha - love it Wayne....

What comes around goes around.

I don't believe in burning bridges when things don't work out. I like the philosophy keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I did the landscape and irrigation for the first 11 condo buildings in a development here and did a great job for a very fair price and bent over backwards to help them meet deadlines to close on each building. Back in 2006 when real estate slowed way down, they decided to find a new contractor who would do the work cheaper. Well they got what they paid for - yikes. I never lost my composure...they weren't my only client after all. I stayed on good terms and now....I'm asked back to work as a consultant periodically and so continue to derive income from that development.

I always leave my ego at home when I go to work.

Tell your wife we said hello and keep the faith Wayne....

She gave her all to this corporation(like so many of us do/ have) and it came down to elimnating the position so someone at the corp. office who has no stake in the local site can do the job.

Whomever hires her will be lucky to get such an honest, caring person that also knows the job.

Thanks for all of the support guys.

Wayne, on the upside things are picking up a little, even in Michigan.

I wish your wife all the best in finding a new and better job.

WOOHOO!

My wife was offered a job and accepted the postion today. It's slightly different than her field but nothing she can't handle.

The best part is it's only 12 miles from home. Fuel costs for her alone were $400 for the commute to her old job.

I'm so glad to see her happy again. She took losing her old job harder than I thought she would.

As always, thanks for the well wishes and support from my Pelican family.

Here's to a better rest of 2012.

Hurray for your wife! I remember almost 3 years ago when the newly elected governor fired my wife in favor of a political crony. She loved the job she had and spent the first week just basically hiding under the covers. She found another job within the month, but you can still see the hurt in her eyes when she talks about the previous job she had and loved.

Give her a big hug for me. And a beer for you for always supporting her.

Great news. 12 miles is a piece of cake unless it's in SoCal.

That's great, and at record speed too.

Economy must be picking up, I'm working on four projects right now, with a few more on the horizon.

Thanks again guys.

She made some calls yesterday and got our daycare positions back so she actually started today versus waiting until Monday.

From what I've learned about the company, I think there is great potential for growth right here in our area. I may even be able to connect some of our medical accounts to them to create some immediate opportunities.

Although she certainly has earned unemployment compensation she won't be collecting even 1 check from them.

George--things are still pretty bleak up this way but I'm glad that your business has picked up. I know the past few years have been rough for architechs. Here's to more jobs coming your way.

i know how she feels i worked for a porsche dealer for 17 years and when another local dealer went under there service manager came to my dealer after 4 months with this loser i came in one monday morning and he told me i was fired for leaving on previous friday without permisson. techs. are flate rate if there is no work you do not get paid why stay. so when i talked to general manger's son {a-hole daddys boy} he did not care so i spent the next 20 years repairing there customers cars once they came out of warranty so who got the last laughf now that same dealer just turned in there porsche franchise so sometime a bad thing turns out to be a good thing. she will get a better job for sure. loyalty means nothing today to most companies till it is too late.
