:)

Just read it again recently, love the story.

I like this review - "This is pure trash"
I'm going to get it.
For my wife of course.

Finished it last week. I flew into Pasco and then drove to Wenatchee and environs while I was reading it. How appropriate.

Again, thank you so much for posting your recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith. Just an outstanding book.

+1 to Shantaram, I read that a while ago and it was good.

Looks good. Headed down to Sebring next week. Anxious to learn some of the lore of the small towns.Thanks.
Just finished the latest by David Downing Jack of Spies. Kind of a dippy title but I enjoyed it, as it also dovetailed into Ken Follett's tale of England's entrance into WWI (Part one of the Tribology) Fall of Giants.

I just finished Ken Follet's epic trilogy of the 20th Century. The last one is named Edge of Eternity and wasn't nearly as good as the first two. It was a good way to pass time, but I was disappointed in the ending. It just kind of petered out.

Anthony Marra, "A Constellation of Vital Phenomena".

Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of The Lusitania, By Erik Larson.
His research and attention to detail is on par with Hampton Sides.
Spoiler alert - individual most responsible for the sinking - Sec. of the Royal Navy - Winston Churchill.
Also highlights the role of the enigma machine.

Finishing "Girl on the Train" now. It's not a waste of time, but it isn't great.
I read "1000 Naked Strangers" last week and I don't recommend it.
Wife says, "Girl in 6E" is stupid beyond belief.

Just finished Wool and started Shift... what an awesome series so far!

The Making Of The Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes - an interesting historical read about of some of the characters, events, & processes which lead to the construction of one of man's most damnable creations.

Just finishing the new John Grisham book. Rogue Lawyer. Good, but a lot like his other books.

A year ago, someone on here said to read "Bad Monkey" by Carl Hiaasen. I read that and 23 more Carl Hiaasen books since. I was ready for a break.....

Any Clive Cussler fans on board? A friend of mine found out I was a crime/espionage fan and offered me his hardcover collection (58 books )
I read the first (Raise The Titanic) and was not impressed.
What sez the board? Worth pursuing?

Clive Cussler books are super-easy reads. If you don't want to think too much, and don't mind totally suspending disbelief, then they can be a fun read on the beach or an airplane. The stories are pretty imaginative, I guess, and after a while you start to enjoy the characters.

(I've often thought it's almost like reading the Hardy Boys, but that hasn't stopped me from reading quite a few of them.)

Dirk Pitt and the evil Foss Gly...

This is a great series. Super creepy & immersive on graveyard in a darkened control room.

Currently half way through Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne trilogy by Brian Staveley, very good epic fantasy.

Has anyone read any Robert Littell? I have been watching the Legends series on Netflix and really enjoying it. Just thought the book would be a good plane read on a trip I am taking.
