...and that's great as long as you find beauty in something. Art doesn't need to be on a canvas nor does it need to be new or innovative.

Art is a wonderful thing and you don't need to get "it", just find whatever pleases you but don't try to crap on something that you do not understand, it makes you look small.

Just a blue canvas is barely above " the emperor's new clothes"..

Why should the museum be housed in a stogy old building? The structure compliments the subject, Enzo Ferrari. It's about modern, sleek cars, that break the mold, not bricks and mortar...

Put the thing where it belongs...by itself somewhere. Those other buildings were there long before that eye-sore.

Non-conformity.
Saves the trouble of being honestly excellent.

A friend was just there today, posted some pictures on FB. He's working/living in Milan. The cars he shot were amazingly beautiful.

I need to go to Italy and just spend about a month or more immersed in beauty.

Incredible!

It's as if you hit for the cycle of modern art idiocy. Mouse-bird, non-art person, a child could(n't) do that... And then you actually put quotation marks around IT!

You're a caraciture. Have you ever had an original thought?

Listen up sling blade, there is "nothing" "to" "get". Modern Art really is just paint splatter, and it really is just a pig's head in a glass case, and it really is just old car parts welded together.

The people that pretend to like modern art are the same people who think Barbara Steisand is good looking with her enormous blower. I gaurantee that David Geffen tried his damndest to like that ridiculous Pollard drip painting that he paid $140 million for. But in the end he just moved it to some other rich poser. Here's what you get for your money:

Oh, I'm sorry. I posted a picture of my drop cloth.

And a child COULD do that (and that's damning with faint praise):

Child fools art crowd with kethcup

I could walk into the MOMA with a gas can and a match and clear out the entire inventory. It would take about 2 weeks to replace it all and no one would be the wiser.

well, we weren't arguing that the cars were ugly.. or that the building did not manage to present them in a nice way, on the inside.

The argument was, that the new building is badly integrated and ruins the old building

Think of it this way: the new building makes the old building special. Put another old building next to it and no one will notice it. Which is the museum and which is the birth place? Or is it the building across the street? The way it is now, the new building brings attention to the old one, highlights the fact that there is something special about the old one.

I'm not always enamored with modern design, but I do think it works well given the subject and site.

I couldn't care less about the building but it does show the arrogance of Ferrari.
The art is in the car design and IMHO it truly is art.

BTW: I was a great fan of F1 Ferrari until the hired the back mailing, cry baby Alonso.
