My condolences to you and your family. It sounds like she had a good life and raised a good family.

Jeff,

I truly feel for you and your family as I have been in your shoes.

I can only express my heartfelt sympathy. Be strong brother and remember the good times.

Some times we have to let go.

God bless.

Thanks again guys. I got my one more day, today. She seemed much more at peace. We were able to talk about a few things and I found the strength to tell her the things I couldn't say yesterday. I am at peace with it now, not happy about, but find peace in knowing I will see her again in a place where she is better off.

I found it very relaxing to just sit and hold her hand, even if we weren't talking. I am going to go back in the morning, and do it all over again. I am hoping through all of this that I can gain just 50% off the strength she had in her life. That would make me an incredibly strong man and hopefully make even more proud.

I am sad, but more at peace with it all now. She got a bad deal in life, in terms of health, so I hope our family, myself especially, made up for that.

So here is the part I am struggling with. My son is away on a 4 week trip in Chile, he is almost 10 and loves his grandma dearly. He last saw her on the 9th, her birthday. He left 2 days later, the day she was moved to the truama ward. He doesn't know.... We facetime and text regularily during his trip, but I don't want to ruin the trip of his young life, plus, what can he do?? I don't want to tell him till he gets home, is this correct thinking?? Be blunt and honest, I really don't know the right thing...

Re: your son

I think you should tell him now. No, he can't do anything but finding out when he gets home might be more traumatic.

Can you Skype or something similar from her room so he could maybe communicate with her?

Prayers sent, I would let him know that Grandma is not improving and that he should continue to pray for her situation. He can a lot from where he is through prayer.

God give your entirely family peace.

Hang in there Jeff. It is great that you were able to spend some quality time with her before she passed. I didn't get to do that when my dad passed. God speed Mrs. Alton.
