Well. My stepdad lost to cancer yesterday.
Operating on very little sleep. Paid a billion dollars for a last minute plane tix. And now I am in El paso. Did the surreal thing of organizing the final resting stuff. Now I am keeping mom busy.

My condolences, I lost my FIL to prostate cancer in '06. His passing has changed our lives in many ways. God give you peace and comfort at this time.

Very sorry for your loss Cliff. The suffering is over and now it's time to start the healing. I know it's been a tough road for you and the family, especially your Mom, give her my condolences and you are all in my prayers.
Hopefully you can still use the tickets or give them away or sell them. Use the money for a nice dinner at your Dad's favorite restaurant for the family. Stay strong, your family needs you right now.
