100's of acres of bloomin' tulips

Okay, so even as a guy this is pretty cool whether you like flowers or not...........

Last week north of Seattle in Mt Vernon Tulip Fields and Acres and Acres and Acres of color

..............a short 2 minute film I quickly put together of me and my Mom enjoying time together from a week ago..........she's slowly dieing of brain cancer, so it was great to get her out for a day of sunshine and natures beauty.

Pictures don't do it justice, It's 10X more stunning in person of the oceans of color.

Me playing with my new Nikon P510 coolpix prosumer grade point-n-shoot camera. Cheap fun and a step up from a cell phone that's for sure. Nice mid sized body and bigger glass and optics than most point and shoots.

Mom's are great, hugs yours if and when you can.

VERY NICE, Dave! Those Tulips are truly magnificent!

I picked up some beautiful red Celosia today that I will be planting at Mom's. She's 90 and only has so many years left - so agree with you - hug 'em while you have 'em and take care of them the best you can.

One more reason I'm going to miss the Skagit Valley... If I play my cards right, I will be able to purchase a little bit of the valley and build the house I REALLY want. That's for another thread.

Beautiful shots and a good story. I'm glad you had such a good time up here. My best to your mother. We should all be so lucky as to have family members that care so much in our twilight.
