"Over 25k spent on conversion." I hear that. That's a good deal. The E36 LSx conversions, when done right seem to be selling for the good part of $20K.

Looks to fit in there nicely, but why not just buy a Corvette?

Is this from the guy who installed the LS1 in a black 930? Looks like a great conversion and I want one!

All that red looks like crap IMO.
Ohter than that it looks like a nice car for someone who likes 944s but hates spending money on timing belts and water pumps.

You would not have liked my 914 race car.

Isn't Janet doing a SMC conversion to a 944?

LT1 into 944.

..I don't mind spending money on timing belts and water pumps, I just like to see purists cry

The conversion isn't costing anything remotely close to 25k..of course it's not an LS2.

I don't think I would have bought one already done, I didn't really want to do this one...and certainly not is it was intended for jeff Gordon because he's an uberdouche. mature, eh?

Once again no power brakes with the SBC conversion; drive a converted 944 without power brakes and report back to us. I found it scary.

I can't remember zackly what your race car looked like, but i remember thinking it was cool.

But then again, lots of things work on 914s that don't work on other cars

Is that a mandatory sacrifice? My guess is the valve cover/booster clearance. Is Hydroboost an option?

i talked to the seller this afternoon. described the car as an excellent example of a 944. but said that the car is a mismatch for the street with the full roll cage and suspension modifications. might have a hybrid nascar suspension. also the seats and belts are almost too much for the street. then it is not quite right for the track with creature comforts, etc and overall weight. it was built for j gordon by one of the mechanics/buiilders in the hendrick shop. gordon never took delivery of the car. this is what i gleaned from the seller who lives nearby. i suspect that it is a very well built car and could be made very streetable or trackable. and, yes, im the guy who put the modified ls7 into my 78 930.
