Hey, if you have too much money, send some to Tulsa. I'll get rid of it for you. I'm good at that...
Have fun, JR |
nah...

Friexenet (sp?) competes very favorably with Dom and Moet in blind taste tests, even when the tasters are pros.

Discovered it years ago when I lived in Italy. When I serve it at parties now, people seem to agree that they prefer it to Champagne. It is a nice change of pace. |
I have a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Grand Dame 1989 at home I could bring, what time should I show up?
I know you've already made the purchase, but I was thinking you could have made a trip to Napa to visit Chandon and some other wineries, taste, buy and ship to Indy and write the trip off as a business expense! |
12 bottles, ~6 glasses per bottle, 72 glasses of Champagne plus liquor and beer, and presumably some mixers/NA stuff, that should be plenty for a party that's not too large.
|
If your guests are going to look at the bottles and make a judgement then Veuve Clicquot for sure, very nice.
Otherwise, Asti pre-poured into flutes. |

Any serious shampoo drinker can tell the difference - even in a coma. Just not on. Like saying theres no difference between $100.- and a $2,000.- whore. Friexenet is a good cheap bubbly, but it is cheap. |
Champagne snobs! Cooks Brut FTW!
|
haha, no snobs at my party. it's isnt a wine and cheese event. it's a "let's get drunk and dance all night event" the average age will be under 30.
lots of good reviews of champagne here, but i just wanted a basic primer. we're not going to be sitting around and grading each bottle. the guys will be drinking the beer and the girls will be drinking foo foo drinks and champagne. it's not a serious party...it's just a big, fun event. |

If you're serving champagne to females under 30, the you've bought the wrong stuff. How about I ship you 2 or 3 bottles of what will make them happy and you can ship me one of the bottles of Dom P.
I'll even throw in a few free recipes for champagne-based apertifs that you can make especially for them. JR |

but Dot, if one gets the guest drunk enuff you do it in reverse and they will not notice that steep fall |

For $2,000 & up a bottle you could have done very well |
BTW - the guy who wrote Wine and War has a book on just Champagne & war. I fergit the titles or his name.
|
I like Mums even better than Dom, but if you want to truely impress try to find a 1948 vintage :D
