Crazy episode tonight.....what are those guys on?
|
I'm guessing the "doc" shot them up with amphetamines. Weird that those guys (all the suits) would allow that, even in 1968. Nice to have less Pete Campbell tonight. Don's headed for trouble if he doesn't get over the surgeon's wife. Oh, and his health problem seems to be getting closer. Ulcer! He'll be coughing-up blood in no time. Peggy is perilously close to making a sig-other move. Almost did the creative guy tonight? Really Peggy? (Never $hit where you eat.) Don's ex got in some good digs in the apartment when the cops were there.

Crazy episode with the way those guys were going after getting the shot. Running around the office and stuff. Funny seeing Peggy being incredulous at that whole scene. I wonder why they didn't offer her the shot.
Throwing X-Acto knives like darts at the apple drawing over Stan's head? Yeah, that's definitely amphetamines. :D Don was certainly going off the rails tying that epiphany of the old soup ad with the drawing of the kid and woman with the beauty spot, the prostitute with the beauty spot, and the doc's wife (with beauty spot) in with what he was going through with his love sick feelings. Buzzed and then later, crashing. Looks like the incident with the woman robbing him cleared his head though... going by the way he was very aloof the doc's wife when they rode the elevator at the end. But he might be just bringing "game" to get her interest up again. I hope not, though... I'm ready for that to be over and for him to wake up and enjoy smokin' hot Megan again. Yeah, I was glad this episode was pretty much Pete-free this week. He's been getting really hard to watch lately. Needs a b!tch slap really bad. |
Yeah guys I noticed the Pete-free evening too - much better.
I knew that black lady was a thief the moment she asked who else was home. That was a little bizarre. I was kinda hoping Don's daughter would have pulled a spoon on her until the cops came. Draper is a mad man...no doubt. Crazy episode..... |
Okay, so not amphetamines but acid? I thought "LSD? No way!" last night but I guess it would have to be LSD to get them to the "creative" place they needed to be. LSD shots in the office! What's next!
|
I'm thinking an amphetamine cocktail. Bizarre. Somewhere I missed the link to the sick kid and that whole set of scenes. What's going on there?
I hope the writers get a handle on this before it all burns out. |
Well there has been death in the office, lots of booze in the office, sex in the office,
drugs in the office. Is anything else possible? Stay tuned!:) |

This episode definitely lacks motor content. Bought June edition of Automobile and one article is "Mad Men Machines - what would Don Draper drive?" Not promoting the mag but I need my fix!:) |

Not buying the story line. Ad men are all marketing majors, English majors (various degrees and they are the copy writers), art majors and have lot of emphasis in things like public relations and marketing strategy. Even in the 1960's my dad had a media research person. He later merged with a firm that did nothing but media packaging. A lot behind that beyond selling space.
But, I know, it's a story based on a time period with the physical presence of the 60's and the lifestyle of the 60's which they do well for the most part. The fact that it's an advertising business is incidental. Could have just as well been the music or movie business. Could have been about a bunch of lawyers in the 60's too. But, there was a little craziness in the ad business as I was able to witness first hand, albeit as a youngster in the 60's. |
The stabbing was great......
The studly guy got some ex nookie..... Almost had some girl on girl.... |
Yeah, Roger needs to grow up, but his daughter over-reacted to him taking the grandson to see "Planet of the Apes." Okay, bad idea, but he should cut-off the money for a while until she shapes up.
Don nailing the ex. Inevitable I suppose. Megan's problems getting worse. Oh boy, how will Don handle that? Pete. What a worm. Peggy stabs her liberal-loopy boyfriend! That's one way to get out of that place and out of that relationship. |
Another episode reminding us DD is a dog. He doesn't deserve Megan. We'll have to see what happens as the season progresses.
Glad that little wimp that Peggy stabbed "spilled his guts" in the ambulance. She's grown on me a lot and I'd like to see her associating with someone more compatible with her character and values. Roger continues to entertain...Pete....not so much. What a drama queen! |
|
Betty is looking hot again!
Megan does nothing for me... that overbite, jeesh. Peggy is taking a more central theme. The last shot of her splitting the middle between the two bosses... wonder if she is poised to take over the operation? Roger is a hoot! |
