This is our last dog Ted, a Bouvier des Flaunders which is a Belgian cattle dog, he was a beautiful, gentle, chilled out dog but sadly we had to have him put to sleep in July this year :(

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506293485.jpg

He was very young, only 2.5 yrs old but his complex health issues ended his short life.

We are a dog loving family and have always enjoyed having a big dog about the house so the thought of Christmas without one wasn't something we were looking forward to.

As there will only ever be one Ted we recently started searching for a different breed we all liked which is harder than it sounds.

Tonight we reserved this handsome, little fella :) it will be a few months before he is part of the family but we can't wait to pick him up.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506294122.jpg

He is 7 weeks old  think he's going to be a big one! I'll be surprised if anyone knows what breed it is as there only a few hundred in total.

So far the names we have come up with are Rocky, Enzo and Prince but any suggestions are welcome.

Sorry to hear of your last dog, Cap.
Hope the new guy works out for you.
Have no idea what he is, though...

I'm sorry to hear about Ted. I lost a relatively young dog several years ago, and she was an awesome dog, super sweet and gentle. It was not a good time.

I'm going to say the new one is a young and fluffy puppy. What do I win?

Yuki, whose life was too short.

Hey guys been awhile since I've been on this thread. Unfortunately my 9 years old boxer rusty pasted a little while back. He was a great dog and is hugely missed. Not sure if I did the right thing but... I got another boxer pup. Think I should have waited a little longer. But done is done. New pup Mia is a 10 weeks old fun puppy only problem is she bites like crazy. Would a muzzle help at this age. It's not chewing it's just biting. She's got sharp little teeth and she's drawing blood on my 2 year old Guinness. He puts up with her and plays with her all day but he does get fed up after awhile.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506433236.JPG

Thanks, think we are going with the name Prince!

He is a Karst Shepherd, a mountain dog breed from Slovenia, he should grow into something looking like this

looks stunning..
like many I went and goggled Karst..
given their history..
he's going to be a handful & awesome
learn how & do his nails early..
otherwise when grown & needed..
a vet will have to sedate him as no-one will be able while awake..
around here a friend pays 300 a pop for her Pyrenees..

They sure do sleep a lot. Puppy has gone from 15# at 2 months, to 45# at 4 months

My daughter adopted this girl in Seattle a few weeks ago. She apparently came from texas but pre hurricane. She was labeled a Border Collie Mix. A total sweetheart and well behaved. The vet thinks she is around 2 years old. Both my kids now have their first dogs as adults.

My son, after getting home from his Afghanistan deployment adopted Clyde, the white and black spotted one. Gracie followed them home from a walk and they also now have her after searching for the owner. Both are total sweethearts.

My adopted dog is now two months in with us. What a pain in the ass. We are getting there slowly. Together.

Sometimes buying a dog seems like such an awesome option. But then there is that puppy thing. Yeoza!
