I don't think that I've posted one of our akita, Kimo. We adopted him three years ago this week, but he's probably closer to five years old

Any Basenji owners here?

My two adoptees. Peyton The Airedale age 9, and Ted, the Welsh terrier age 6. last 2pics are Mr Hankey the Airedale who we lost last August to cancer. He was a brave boy but lost the fight. Soon after we adopted Peyton.

Client just in showed me footage he is putting together of local doc who uses his plane for pet rescues. I think the doc (a neighbor of mine actually) mentioned he had flown over 500 'dogs cats and rabbits' to new homes. Love it!

My little 3.5 month Sophie got baptized Easter Sunday. Brought her to the BBQ at the kids house with a pool. I knew she hadn't seen a body of water yet so I walked her to the edge to let her sniff. No sniff, no hesitation, she did a Jesus run thinking it was solid. Bobbed up dog paddling. I pulled her out and dried her off and she was fine around the pool. This summer I'll teach her where the steps are.

Buttercup is a years old Karelian belonging to the folks about a mile down the road. She is apparently tired of being an outside dog and is trying to move in. This has been going on for months and she’s now doing sleepovers. The neighbors don’t seem to have noticed.

My wife and I tell ourselves that we are better dog owners than them. And she is sort of choosing us. But that doesn’t carry much weight. At what point is this theft? How do we deal with this?

I'd let them know their dog is seeking shelter for the night then go from there. It's then established that you were never trying to steal their dog

One of the regulars at the nsca shoots I attend brings his little buddy. Such a cool dog!

Our daughter is absolutely in love with her 4 yr old English Golden Retriever "Gracie". Prior to Gracie she wasn't even a pet person. She is truly the sweetest dog I've ever met.

One of my wife's friends is a very talented artist who has recently be doing pet portraits in charcoal so we commissioned her to do a portrait of Gracie as a Christmas present. Just got it back from the framer and we delivered it on Sunday. She loved it and it brought her to tears. Just had to share.

Been a terrible last 24hrs..
Last night, we lost our Bella. Was riding with me in my truck, happy as can be as always. Suddenly she just collapsed on the seat. Didn't know what happened. I was only 2 mins away from our vet. I pulled right up to the front door and carried her in. The took her immediately and brought her in the back. Had my Bodhi with me also. Called my wife to get here right away.
Dr came out after a little bit, said her EKG wasn't good, and a quick ultrasound found her abdomen filled with fluid. An aspiration found it filled with blood. Dr thinks she had a tumor that ruptured. Shes had some medical issues the past couple months, but didn't expect this. Next move was to take her to the ER vet, but Dr didnt think she would make it. She would have been 14 in two weeks. Wasnt going to put her through any more surgeries. So we unfortunately had to make that horrible decision that no pet owner ever wants to make. Like i said, Bodhi was still with us at the vet, and he laid with her on the bed while we spent our last time with her. He was extremely attached to her. You could see his anxiety, it was heartbreaking.

Going to miss my girl so much.
