That is so sad someone left her at a McDonalds. Or rather, I guess she travelled there because she could smell the food. It's so sad people leave dogs like that. :( Great you picked her up! And I love the above picture - looks like Mid-West grass too ;) Beautiful dog.

FrenchToast,

I think your joking but just in case your not. We meet the foster parent at McDonalds in Salina as they had driven up from Wichita to meet us to make our trip shorter. She came from a great rescue organization and the foster parents were wonderful. They did a great job with her I can tell cause she has been a great little girl so far.

She's a sweetheart Slider!

FWIW I knew what you meant, having participated on more than a few rescue transports.

There's not many endeavours more endearing than being part of animal rescue.

Congrats and well done sir. SmileWavy

FYI folks......

The dangers of corn cobs if eaten in whole or part by our dogs.

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...09831344_n.jpg

Many dogs are scavengers, raiding rubbish bins for scraps but corn cobs, if swallowed whole or in part, are not digestible and cause a blockage in the intestine that can have tragic consequences. Please make sure you dispose of any corn cobs so that your dog cannot get to them under any circumstances. If treated in time the corn cob can be removed and part of the intestine taken out but this is a risky surgery with peritonitis a possible side effect and it is very, very costly. Death is a very real risk as a result of this happening.

If your dog shows any of the following signs or symptoms it is possible they may have an intestinal blockage which could be a corn cob or many other items that dogs find palatable that just don't pass easily through their system: vomiting or dry retching, diarrhoea (or straining), anorexia, painful abdomen, lethargy. Ring your vet immediately and they will be able to advise you on the best course of action, be it watch-and-wait or be examined immediately. Don't take any chances.

Baz is 100% correct. I could tell everyone a story about dogs and corn cobs, but let's leave as Baz says, don't take any chances.
