posible torn acl
well now Merle did it. fell off a bench he was trying to jump up on and came down lame. vet says is doesn't appear broken at all. but his rear knee now pops sometimes when you move it, and he isn't putting weight on it. so he might have torn his acl. got some good pain meds and it hasn't seem to slow his attitude much but he is very unhappy about being stuck in the house.
we weren't able to get a surgical consult yet; hoping to to get that done in the next few days. if it is, what do we have to expect for procedure and recovery time? |

Ted:
Thanks for the update and pics. Glad to hear Merle is on the mend. The TPLO procedure is the gold standard for CCL repairs. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted. Here's Billabong (who has had both her rear legs repaired).... http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...788_5116_n.jpg |

he is doing pretty good. tries to put some weight on it already, and walking with all four some times when he takes it slow. hops most of the time though. popped a couple of sutures yesterday, but got a butterfly on them right away. weeping a little but doesn't appear to to be opening up at the incision yet. keeping an eye on it and will head to the vet if i need to get them redone. he put a crack in the cone last night so might have to get that replaced before the two weeks of shame are up. |

>See the sign? Believe it or not I've had strangers with this exact view still try to come onto the property to ask for directions, sell me something or possibly case the joint.:eek:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364232858.jpg |
