We just watched the movie 'Red Dog' based on a true story. A wonderful movie from Australia and highly recommended.
But sorry to learn Koko who played Red Dog, died last Dec., age 7 from a heart condition :(

Our 2 and half yr old Yellow Lab, Ella. She was born and raised in the Indiana Woman's Prison outside of Indy. 14 hours of training, 7 days a week for a year and 3 months to be a canine assistant for the handicapped. She was kicked out of the program due to "licking too much" which is frowned upon. We were able to adopt her because my stepson responds really well to canine therapy (he has Cerebral Palsy and other syndromes).
