We're dealing with that now. I do not want a big dog, she does, and she wants it in the house.
I'm not really sure I want another dog at all at this point in my life, but I don't want to deal with the input and output from an 80 pound dog.

My friend's Springer Spaniel relaxing in her friend's lap at a recent BBQ. She's turned out to be an awesome hunting dog.

The inevitable sad day.

Almost three years ago, we took in our neighbor's little dog when she became unable to care for her. The little Yorkie-****zu cross had been an apartment dog all her life and became our neighbor's when her adult children moved into a place which didn't allow pets. The little dog had never learned to play, had been fed the cheapest dog food and had numerous issues.
When she moved in, our Border Collie was wise enough to give her space and the two got along well.
About a month ago she started having fainting spells and it was discovered she was suffering from congestive heart failure. Medication relieved the fluid build up and she had a good month. This morning she was in distress and was rushed to the vet. It became apparent she was at the end of this road. Bella was laid to rest this morning with her toys and blankets under a new blue spruce tree after out Border Collie had a chance to say "goodbye ". It is going to be rough when our granddaughter gets home from school, as this happened after she got on the bus.
This part always sucks.

Goodbye, Little one.

Les

RIP Bella

You had a rough start girl, but you wound up in the right home. You had a pal and family that loved you.

Goodbye Little one

I’ve been working on my daughter’s property in the lead up to her outdoor wedding that was held this past Sat. For the last three months on the weekends working to get her and her fiancé to the finish line. When I’m working from home, the pups are pretty content to hang and be good. I took PTO all last week, nine straight, long days of work on the property. Dogs weren’t exactly pleased.

We had been keeping our wedding clothes closed away in my office and the day of the wedding I rushed home to shower and grab my suit after last minute decorating. My wife and my daughters were all together at the property so, it was only me coming back to the house. Showered, grabbed my suit and headed back up to the kids to get dressed.

In my rush, I neglected to close my office door on the way out.

Came home around midnight to this:

Oh, I KNOW who was upset,,,,,

Sorry Les. Toughest situation in the world to deal with and my heart goes out to you and yours. But thank you for doing what you could for little Bella. Hugs to your BC......

Our rescue decided to follow my wife up our lane as she left and I was coming home in the 930… after running after her for 3/4 of a mile, I decided he deserved a ride back to the house…
