Had a dispute with my window supplier today.

I got a VM on my cell where they told me "the customer won't know the difference" and "I hope you didn't point that out" and "just move on."

The origin of the dispute was several window replacement sashes were made too short according to the order sheet I signed. I got 9 of the 10 sets to work, but really needed the spec'd size to complete one installation. After noodling over the issue for a day, the distributor told me the manufacturer would modify one set if I returned them.

So, I boarded up the opening and sent the sashes back. What did I get returned to me? An inch of wood glued to the ends to make them longer. I complained that those rails had to be whole, no joints. And that had been agreed upon.

My complaint was addressed with the quotes above.

The manufacturer is Paramount Doors and Windows in San Bernadino, CA.

The comments were made by the sales dept at my distributor, not the factory. The factory won't take calls directly from customers. But, yes, they glued on a strip and sent it to me.

I complain a lot about the integrity of 30-40 year olds. Yep, this assohle fits right in.

Since 2002 I have spent $150,000 at Paramount thru various dealers. I even sold the products at one time. That was the only period when I could call them directly.

Hey watch it with the 40 year olds. I agree with you about the 30 year olds. OK, I agree with you about the 40 year old bunch too.

I don't understand why the sale's guy will not fight for you knowing that this is a mfg's issue. He accepts the fact that a strip was glued on and it wouldn't match the rest of the windows? I would be screaming blooding murder at Paramount, unless he wants you to go elsewhere. I don't understand? I am shock that they would not take to you even you sold for them at one time?

There should be plenty of qualify window and doors salesmen out there.

I told my glazer or glass shop owner that the guys are screwing up on my orders, installation and not returning calls or getting bids ( 3 days to a week for a frameless shower door bid is BS.) when they are suppose to. I kept having to call them daily just to get a number from them. This is rough, not final numbers. I put up with it for six months because we have done business for many many years. I do not go back anymore due to the idiots he has working for him. Last I heard, business is dropping like flies. A poor or careless sales staff can really put a company down the tubes.

That's ok.
In 10 years when the walls start buckling, black mold is present in the lungs of their children, and the rotten window need to be replaced, the company will cover all of that...

Got a call from the owner after he left the office today. I also got another email from the rep telling me that if I ever set foot in their office, he's gonna do me in.

Owner says the guy has been going off for 6 weeks. Now he's going down the road from what I hear.

The owner is looking for a door and window rep. This job pays 60K. PM me for details.

You guys underestimate me. I know better than to be in the door and window supply side. Actually, I was once. I can tell you this, contractors are some of the worst a-holes on the planet when it comes to loyalty and integrity. I don't suffer that problem, but they make the money.

But, if someone lies to me or treats me with a gross lack of respect (when I'm the one spending the money), I dump on them big time. That's exactly what this kid did.

Most of the contractor (if you can call them that) have no back bones. Milt, I have to say, I buy from the same vendor each and every time. They are all within a few bucks difference. I call then, tell them what I need and they call when it gets there. Pay the bill on delivery, unless its 20 grand worth of custom windows, they usually get it for me. SAve time, no *****!n form neither side and I pay my bill with a smile.
