Driving Shoes
Now that Piloti has gone belly up, What are the choices in a good driving shoe ?
I can only find the Puma Motorsport shoes, they seem to be Ferrari branded. Went and tried on a pair of the Puma's something cat ? Not as comfortable as my Pilotis |
I would think that the various "barefoot" style shoes would give the feeling to be a goos driving shoe.
|
I've seen ads for driving mocs Men's Deerskin Driving Moccasins by Minnetonka. Are these good?
|
The Herrington catalog has many driving shoes, and some of them look like they might do the job. They are very proud of them.
|
Been happy with my OMP shoes.

I have Pumas. There are several different lines they make and they all fit differently. I would try a couple different ones. I buy mine from Zappos.com. They are free shipping both ways so order a couple and keep what what you like.

driving shoes...
Ths set of Minnetonka's that I have are comfy for driving but not much support for walking. Adidas sells a Porsche branded driving shoe (bought on Eb*y) that is comfy all around.
|
Lots of companies, including Porsche offer driving moccasins. They cost around 400.
Piloti style shoes? Who knows.... Does Simpson make a street version? |

See if No Fear still makes them? I have a set I bought back in 1998 or so and they are kevlar/aluminized high tops that were super nice.
|
I love the line of addidas driving shoes...

When did Piloti go away?
|
Alpine Stars, Oakley, Sparco and several others companies all make racing/driving shoes.
|
I don't think I have to worry about needing shoes for a while, when Piloti shoes showed up at Ross for $19 a pair, I picked up multiple pairs, hell $20 for shoes is cheap.
|
I'll second the Puma recommendations. Plenty of selections in non-Ferrari liveried driving shoes. You can check them out on Zappos. They run a little bit narrow, though.
I've also used wrestling shoes. And don't forget Addidas Sambas; comfortable for walking around in, too. |
+1 on the wrestling shoes.
I also have a pair of Diadora Formula mid top racing shoes thats ive had for years. love them. |

I have several pairs of Converse, but would like to get yet another pair, the thin soled ones look promising. Thin Chucks Closer to The Streets: The New Slim Chucks « TheLabelFinder Blog http://posted.thelabelfinder.de/wp-c...04-479x359.jpg |
