let me see if I got this right: the kid tipped over a gas can and gas spilled out all over the ground and caught fire and burned the kid, and that was the gas can manufacturer's fault.
Am i missing something here?

Question: why wasn't the ******* cap on the gas can? Why wasn't the gas can stored in a way that gas would not spill out if tipped over?

I have gas cans, but I don't keep them in the house and I put the ******* caps on them and seal them so if they tip over, NOTHING ******* COMES OUT!

Seems to me if we really need to point fingers and place blame, we should forget the gas can manufacturer and lock up the ******* parents for criminal negligence and their lying beotch lawyer right along with them.
Maybe put dan lefty rather in a cell too.

I fully grasp the fact that a great tragedy occurred and an innocent boy was several burned and scarred for life, I know more about that subject that I care to discuss but it involves nightmares and counseling.
But the POS parents dishonestly try to blame anyone else, and actually try to profit from their mistake and screw over a reasonable company that is just trying to provide a decent product for consumers.

It's a damn shame that poor boy has those scars instead of them, and it's a shame he has to grow up in a house with people like that!

Idiots do stupid crap and it's the can maker's fault because the cans are not idiot proof. that's what's wrong with this country.
Here's a clue, there is nothing in the world that's idiot proof. Idiots are too creative in their stupidity, that's why we have darwin.

I'm pissed. this hits too close.

I'm glad for flame arresters.
Using the oxy/acty torch (with a low O2 tank) and seeing the flame disappear with a "pppft" is a bit unnerving.

Sure, the gas-can could be designed to make it more idiot-proof. ...but then the lawyer just find a better idiot.

...some idiot will set a gas-can on an open flame (near a kid) and some lawyer will shortly there after be saying "if only the gas-can had ceramic space-shuttle tiles...."
+1

And we all wonder why gas cans are going to cost $75 each a few years from now...

The price tag for idiot-proofing things is staggering.
