Hottest I've ever felt was a 95 degree day in downtown Atlanta. The built in evaporative cooling system just doesn't work there. Arizona at 110 wasn't as bad.

Although "hot is hot", my highest temp was 105 once in Kansas (low humidity), and it wasn't nearlty as bad as mid-90s and humidity (which I tolerate pretty well). I kinda feel sorry for unaclimated football teams that come visit the SEC in Sept .

My wife and I were out for a walk yesterday evening and we were discussing which was the worst, extreme heat or extreme cold. We decided that cold was better than heat as we could dress accordingly. High heat we could not tolerate. With these record temps. in the US this year, I would wonder if people ever consider moving to cooler temps such as Washington on the west coast where the temps are moderated by the ocean. Phoenix I could not imagine - I would be living indoors or moving.

For me, in Louisiana, I prefer the heat than the cold. Once I get cold (feet, hands) I can't warm up. But in the heat I can always cool down faster than I can warm up. I lived in the northeast for 4 years. Couldn't wait to get back to warmer temps. What I can't tolerate in the humidity, not just in the heat but in the cold. Nothing worse than cold wet weather. I'm sure its what we have grown up in.

I love the heat! Couldn't be happier in flip-flops and shorts all year round if I could. I work out in it, basically do everything in it. I ran 5 miles yesterday in 90+ heat with high humidity. I love the heat b/c fat people have nowhere to hide...LoL. Oh, and how about sundresses? You don't see many of those in Canada, do you?....

I love Phoenix. Yes, it's hot but the worst is august and then it starts to cool down. Absolutely gorgeous the rest of the year until about the end of April/may and starts heating up again. Everybody lives in their pool. And besides, it isn't much different than living in cold. Instead of going from a heated place to another heated place, you go from one air conditioned place to another. Actually, I think it's easier. I couldn't imagine scraping ice off my windshield everyday or shoveling snow. Blech!

And yes, I would be fat and ugly if I lived in cold. You are kinda forced to look good if you live in your bikini and sundresses for six months out of the year.

Tweeze, tweeze, tweeze, you've been around here long enough to know that you just can't make statements like this without pics.

I prefer cold temperatures to heat. Sundresses and sunbathers in bikinis are a plus, though. And I would not do well in ice and snow country. Or perpetual rain. But those cold, clear fall and spring days are my favorite to go for a nice bike ride.

I wear shorts and T-shirts year-round. Sometimes I put on a jacket, though.

But why not have the best of both worlds?

Add me to one that will be happy to put layers of clothes on for cold weather. But cold to a SoCal boy is 40 degrees. If every day was 50 at night and 68 during the day, that would be perfect weather.

Oh wait, it's like that 50% of the time here.

about 80 right now. When it gets a bit closer to sunset we'll walk down to the beach (parking is nuts) and surf a bit as the winds are fairly light today. About a 15 min walk.

Could be worse...

If $$$$ were no object then I would likely spend more time in say San Fran. A compromise for the snowbirds from Canada is for them to go to say Arizona in the winter months(not to exceed 183 days I believe the rule is) and spend the rest of the year in Canada. Once April comes the snowbirds flee like scalded cats. The Cal. coast probably has the best year round weather. But I would think that taxes are higher.
