I'm very safety conscious when it comes to spectating. I won't sit down track at a drag race. I won't sit in the first 30 rows of a speedway. I want to be buried in the pits at an autocross. Amazing no one was hurt at the French WRC. These people can stand in the worst possible spots and don't think about being killed.

Watch the pole just miss the one bloke.

The funny bit: the navigator was looking casually out of the right side window during the picking of the grapes. After they bounced off the pole, Solberg attempted to proceed. The navigator said, "The road is over there."

They never found the road. But, I digress.

Now that's funny.

If either of you two actually read, (can you?), the thread you'd see it's the "show", the governing body people are disgusted with.
The Frances built a wonderful sport only to tear it back down for the sake of making more & more money.

On with the show!!!!

...yet you still managed to call me "small-minded" even though we have never met (and never will).

..and yes, I can read. The obvious vitriol toward anything NASCAR on this board is very tiresome. Guess I'll go backdate my 911 into something its not.

Another one of the instructors at our DE always talks about the fact that human eyes and mind have only had to work at running (on foot, from animals) speed...or a horse. It's amazing how much we have evolved over only 100 years.

A couple of years ago Carl Edwards was flipped into the catch fence and 8 people got hurt.

Talladega is probably best suited for testing or tuning. The competition is a little crazy.

Its coming out now that Earnhardt got a concussion from that mess and will sit out two races. This after his amazing recovery year. Wonder if they rethink Talladega now.

Talladega has a road course that only needs to be repaved to put into service. It hasn't been run in many, many years. Alas, they missed the boat big time thinking that folks in AL didn't care about road racing.

I guess Barber Motorsports Park showed that not to be the case. One more time, unless you've been to Talladega, you just don't sense the appeal. But, I was surprised to read VaSteve say that only 88K people attended.

When I was racing enduro karts in hour long races at big track, they would show the cross flags at 30 min. I'd look at those and go, "You're kidding. I've been out here for week already." The 15 min to go sign was a big motivator. Then I switched to sit-up enduros of 30 min races. Now those were fun.

If you can believe this, the early karting enduro races of the 60's and ran 2 hours. That is to say, no fueling and no driver change, just 2 hours of running a 3' x 4' wheelbase on 10" tires, 1 inch off the ground with no suspension.

Even at that, I don't envy driving in a 130* cockpit for 3 hours.
Our track does two hour events, both team's and solo's. I won the solo too many times in a row, I stick with the teams now, its more fun to get out and see the standings, fast laps, who is moving up, who is moving down.

I have the record at our track for longest run, 203 laps, I don't remember exactly how long it took, 2 1/2hours maybe.

Longest I've been in a kart non stop, was a 12hour team race, that the rules had no driver maximum, obviously, there is an advantage to not pit until the kart is running on fumes. It was a partially wet track, so speed was down, took about three and a half hours to run the tank low.

The track can have a lot to do with your endurance factor, my home track in its current setup - no way I'd be competitive for an entire tank of gas, a hour and a half, I'd be fine, maybe two hours.

A track with long straights, I'd want out from boredom before fatigue.

Small minded people turn the OP into their own political rant and agenda not starting their own thread to bash the structure and hierarchy of Nascar.

Yes, I can read. I can read right through you.

Funny... neither one of you two rocket scientists addressed my original post that no one criticized CRASHCAR drivers. I stand by my post.
You both should run for office.

Wow. Relax. No need for continued unwarranted attacks on people who do not agree with you. I think your post speaks for itself as to your dislike for CRASHCAR.
